Meet Joe DaSilva

Joe has been coaching (and playing!) soccer his entire life.  Growing up, his father was the president of the local youth soccer organization, so Joe has been helping to coach and guide younger players since he was in grade school. After getting his Doctorate in Pharmacy and working in the pharmaceutical industry for 10 years, he began coaching his sons Calvin and Malcolm, which reignited his deep passion for coaching soccer.

Since then, Joe has gladly spent his weeknights and weekends on the soccer field, developing young soccer players across the Boston Metro North area.  Joe prides himself on creating a fun and fast paced environment where kids can grow their soccer skills, while inspiring their love for the game.  Soccer provides him a vehicle to have a positive influence on kids of all races, ethnicities, and backgrounds.  The ultimate goal is not only to develop soccer players, but to foster a child’s confidence, resilience, and self-esteem.  Joe believes that the lessons taught through the game have an incredible power to carry kids throughout their lives.

Background

Growing up in a soccer family, a love for the game runs deep in his blood.  Joe’s parents were born in soccer country (Azores, Portugal) and his family vacations growing up consisted of traveling in the “soccer van” throughout the Northeast region for various soccer competitions.  As Joe’s dad was the president of his youth soccer association, Joe grew up on a soccer field, playing, coaching, and lending a helping hand wherever needed.  Joe’s playing career included captaining his travel team (Scituate Youth Soccer), club team (South Coast United), and High School Team (Scituate High School).  Joe earned all division honors in his Senior Season.

Joe spent his college years earning his Doctorate in Pharmacy (while playing plenty of intramural soccer!) and has since built a successful career in the Pharmaceutical industry.

Joe carries a US Soccer Grassroots coaching license in 4v4 and 7v7, focusing primarily on younger age groups.  He currently serves as a pro coach for Boston Bolts Metro North (Club Soccer) and Reading United Soccer Club (Town Soccer).

Joe founded Goal Getters in 2023 to reach kids of all skill levels and provide an environment that fosters a love for the beautiful game.
